Hammerhead in with the City
Hammerhead will now be teaching the scuba classes for the City of Lakeland. We will be using the Gandy pool to have our pool classes. A heated 12 foot deep pool will make learning a whole lot nicer.

The cost is only $755 per person and all you need to bring is you alcohol. We only have 10 spots so get hold of Sid ASAP.
CONGRADULATIONS
As an instructor, nothing makes me happier than seeing someone go all the way. This summer we at Hammerhead are proud to announce that we had 4 people do just that. David Kuehl, Charles Vickers, and Ron Horn have competed their Dive Master Course and Steve McCullum went to IDC and has become a PADI Instructor.
These guys put in a lot of work, time, and money to go all the way and we at Hammerhead are very proud of what they have accomplished. When you see these guys give them a pat on the back and know that they are ready to help you in any
You've been diving to much if; YOU BEEN DIVING TO MUCH IF:
You clear your ears going down an escalator.
Your time to fly is measured in months.
You stopped logging your dives and start logging your surface intervals.
You worry about the elevator ascending to quickly.
Your picture appears on a fish identification chart
Drift Diving DRIFT DIVING
Did you know that the Gulf Stream sends 30 million cubic meters of water per second through the Straits of Florida? By comparison, all of the rivers that empty into the Atlantic, including the Mississippi and the Amazon, amount to only 0.6 million cubic meters per second. That is why drift diving in Pompano and the Palm Beaches is so great. From the Keys to Palm Beach is the only place in North America that you can drift dive.
Gas Prices GAS PRICES
Have you filled up lately? Having gas pains? Well the boats have and they’re going up on their prices. We try to keep the cost down as much as we can, but our trips are going up with they’re prices. A Pompano boat trip is going up to $70 per trip with their tanks and the Keys are going up to $80 per trip. These prices will start with the next trip. If you have an oil well in your back yard, we might be able to save you so money, if not we are sorry.
How Is Your Breathing Breathing underwater is a great way to spend some of that break time we look forward to. But how well is your LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM maintained? When was the last time that it was serviced? Where are all them little bubbles coming from? Will it work or will I spend one of my dives on the boat because my regulator blows an o-ring. Now is the time to bring in you equipment for it’s annual service before it cost you a dive or more.
A Good Diver Is Always Learning I borrowed this saying from Dive Training Magazine, but it is true. In this sport the more you know the more fun it is. Wouldn’t it be more fun if you knew what that fish is called, or maybe you can stay a little longer if you air control was better. We offer Boat, wreck, deep, drift, peak performance buoyancy, navigation, photo, video and the new digital photo just to help you get the most of your dive trip.
If you would like any class that you don’t see on the back of this letter, just ask and we will be happy to set one up.
Specialty Classes
Many divers stride to achieve the PADI Master Scuba Diver ranking, However, it is hard to find the opportunity to take the five specialty classes required. As hard as it is for you to find time, it is equally has hard for us to find time to teach these classes during the summer, when we are so busy teaching open water classes.
Now is a great time to take those specialty classes you have been fighting to find time for. While we are still busy trying to set up the shop, the way we feel it will best suit our customers, we do have time to teach specialty classes. We have tentatively set up an underwater photography class and a project aware fish identification class.
If you ever wanted to take a class with an instructor, the fish identification class is for you, as Ken and Sid will be students in that class, while Jim provides his 30 years of diving knowledge to us, on how to identify Caribbean reef fish. Ken is still hoping to locate and identify the fish on page 223 of the fish id text book. If Ken hasn’t already showed you a photograph of this elusive fish, then you should stop by and check the photograph out and see if you have ever seen this fish. It is a SLIPPERY fish to find indeed.
For those of you, who don’t know what the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is; let me take a moment to explain it. Any diver who has completed open water, advanced open water, rescue diver, five specialty courses, and has logged 50 dives is eligible for this ranking. It is the highest recreational ranking PADI bestows on a recreational diver.
It is truly an honor to receive this ranking; however it doesn’t come without hard work. So if you are interested in the PADI master scuba diver certification or have the desire to take any specialties, Please feel free to contact us to discuss setting up the classes.
